Official text of the first french constitution adopted on September 3, 1791, with the declaration of human rights of August 26, 1789 [p.1 to 12] and which will be suspended on August 10, 1792.
Copy in-32 [10*6 cm] of great beauty. The burgundy morocco binding, with some gilding, seems to be the work of Janet, Jubert’s successor, who placed a calendar from 1792, in the form of two folding tables, at the head of the book.
Pierre-Etienne Janet, administrator of the Brotherhood of the Virgin of Saint-Hilaire in 1785, succeeded his brother-in-law, Jean-Pierre Jubert. This copy allows us to specify his date of installation on rue Saint-Jacques: last quarter of 1791. He made a specialty of small almanacs with precious bindings.
Small full morocco with crushed grains. Gilding on the edges of the boards, the fields and the edges of the backing boards. 3 golden slices. perfect slices. Excellent condition. Long spine, fillets and florets, title. No scuffing. Two folding tables representing the calendar for the year 1792. Vignau red bookplate
