Amsterdam, no editor mentioned, 1764.

Contemporary binding in full marbled calf, ribbed gilt back, speckled edge.

This edition is the best counterfeit of the famous “Fermiers généraux” edition, published two years before.
Illustrated with a portrait of La Fontaine by Rigaud, 6 vignettes, 61 culs-de-lampe and complete of its 80 engravings by Eisen, reversed compared to the 1762 edition and sometimes signed by the new engravers.
Cohen describes this edition as “quite pretty” in his Guide de l’amateur de livres à vignettes du XVIIIe, 571.
Small and discreet traces of rubbing, mainly on the joints, some rare foxing and marginal stains, otherwise a very nice copy, complete of all its illustrations, in a contemporary binding.
