Lovely pair of woodblock printed books by Adachi Ginko
[Japan] A very nice pair of colour, woodblock printed books by Adachi Ginko (1853 – ?). Ginko was sent to prison in 1889 for one year for publishing an illustration of the Meiji Emperor as a skeleton. These two books contain a nice selection of his work.
Osaka. Suzuki Tsunematsu. 1902. Each 20 leaves. 22.4 x 15.2cm.
In very good condition. Covers with minor age wear. The final page of one volume has a 5cm closed tear at the top. Otherwise very good. b34071232
